The Original Base–where our ancestors ultimately emigrated to on their journey from Earth. Long abandoned since the first pandemic, your people have just discovered its location–and the indigenous dragon has made the Base its home. Find its lair.

“Hey there!”

As we chased the mysterious indigenous beast into the abyss, there was that sketchy trader, Cadmus.

“Strange place to bump into each other, huh? What are you doing here?”

“I could ask you the same thing!”

“Don’t mind me, hehe!”

He didn’t say it, but he was after that thing, too and started to follow me. I rode my dragon faster to shake him off, but he kept up without any trouble. He’s quite a rider.

“You know, thinking about it, that thing’s putting a bit of a monkey wrench in the works for your master plan, huh?”

“Sorry? Our ‘master plan?’”

“Don’t try to pretend you don’t know what I mean. We’re not lab rats. I know what’s going on.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Hmph. Have it your way, then. You know what this place up ahead is, right?”

Right. That’s our forefathers’ place…. the region under Amara. The unknown dragon was heading there.

In other words, he came from the “original place”. And that means….

All the data I’ve gained from my research and battles is starting to look very different to me now.

Cadmus spoke up:

“I came to see it… You can stare at it all you like, and you’ll never get your head around it.”

“‘It?’ What are you talking about?”

He stopped abruptly and stared at me.

It was a searching look, judging and pitying all at once.

But I felt no sense of antagonism.

“I guess you should see it too. But before that… look over there! Company!”

I looked in the direction Cadmus was pointing. Hostile creatures were pouring out of the innards of the land, amassing to eliminate the alien invaders. Us.

“They’re all yours! My dragon’s no good for combat!”

Cadmus fled back in the direction from which we’d come.

Cowards get their comeuppance in the end…

Cursing him under my breath, I flew into the writhing mass of hostiles.
